Coronavirus Update: Pick-up & Limited Delivery

By order of Gov. J.B. Pritzker, all restaurants in Illinois will be closed to the public through March 30. Fortunately, restaurants may still offer delivery, drive-through and curbside pick-up orders.

We are planning to offer curbside pick-up orders and limited local delivery starting with dinner on Tuesday, March 17th. We are still in the process of working out the details of how this will work and will provide updates as we have them.

We have always worked to maintain the highest sanitation standards in our kitchen, our dining rooms, and our restrooms. We want to let you know that we have augmented our safety measures in order to ensure our continued operation during these uncertain times.

We have aligned our safety measures with the advice and guidance of the WHO, the CDC, the Chicago Department of Public Health and the University of Chicago. We have focused particularly on educating our staff, on seating guests further from each other and on cleaning and sanitizing more carefully and frequently all common touchpoints and hard surfaces, including kitchen work surfaces, door handles, and restroom fittings and fixtures.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and will update our services and procedures as required. We will post updates as the situation changes.

In the hope of making our way through these difficult times together, we look forward to serving you warmly but safely in the days and weeks to come.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

For 20 years our priority has been providing a unique dining experience featuring classical French food and wines and polite service, with a strong commitment to the health and safety of our guests and our staff. We have always worked to maintain the highest sanitation standards in our kitchen, our dining rooms, and our restrooms.

In response to the evolving public health concerns relating to the coronavirus (COVID-19,) we want to let you know that we have augmented our safety measures in order to ensure our continued operation during these uncertain times.

We continue to use white linens in our dining rooms. A throwback perhaps, but limited to a single-use, the tablecloths help to mitigate some of the difficulties presented by exposed hard surfaces.

And although we have a deep and abiding affection for each of our guests, we have advised all of our staff to refrain from any physical contact – including shaking hands.

In the hope of making our way through these difficult times together, we look forward to serving you warmly but safely in the days and weeks to come.

renewed and refreshed for summer…

We start our 20th year renewed – brilliant new windows installed this past week give a new face to our ongoing experiment in serving French classics to our old friends and to a new generation of guests that we hope will become our new friends.  We will re-open for business as usual on Friday, August 2.
And with this entry, we launch our new website in an effort to keep all of our friends up to date about what’s happening in our house – changes in menu, additions to the wine list and special events we hope to host in the coming months.
Take a closer look around the website and come back soon to see our new peak summer offerings – our menus l’estival – an explosion of summery things to eat.  From juicy heirloom tomatoes and chilled crab salad to the marriage of summer squashes and bell peppers, to the season’s freshest fish, we hope to tempt you into trying our classic preparations of all the season’s bounty.
As those of you who know me understand, there are often not as many hours in the day as I wish there were.  I will write in this space as often as I can but there will likely be lapses between entries.  I will, however, try to post updates as often as I can.
Finally – to our old friends, thank you for your unwavering support these past twenty years.  It’s kept us going.  And to those of you who have yet to join our growing circle of friends, we look forward to welcoming you to our house the next time you’re looking for a little treat.
